Status on 29 October 2026
We checked the operator website on 28 and 29 October 2026. On both dates, it said that the shows at the Pyramids are temporarily suspended for development works.
On 29 October 2026, the website also showed these points:
- The summer, winter and Ramadan schedules were not enabled.
- Online booking for the Pyramids show was disabled.
- The website gave no date to start the shows again.
Check the operator website before you plan an evening for the show.
What the show is
The operator is the Misr Company for Sound, Light and Tourism Development. It describes the Pyramids show like this:
- The Sphinx tells the story in the show.
- The story is about the kings Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure.
- You can choose from 10 languages.
- The second show of the evening runs only with a minimum number of visitors, except on Thursday. Five foreign visitors are enough.
- A show that you book in advance on the operator website runs with no minimum.
The operator gives its address as Abu Alhol Square, Nazlet El-Semman. This is next to the Giza plateau. For more about the Sphinx, see Great Sphinx of Giza.
Tickets
The show has its own ticket. The plateau ticket does not include it.
- The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities sells the plateau tickets on egymonuments.com. Its Giza booking page does not list the show.
- The operator sells show tickets on soundandlight.show. On 29 October 2026, booking was disabled.
The operator page still shows ticket prices, but you cannot book. Check the price when booking opens again. For the official plateau prices, see Pyramids of Giza tickets.
Is it worth it?
We cannot give a verdict on a show that does not run now. When the shows start again, use these questions to decide:
- Do you have an evening free near Giza? The show is next to the plateau. A hotel in central Cairo adds a drive in each direction.
- Is your language available? Check the schedule for a show in your language on your date.
- Do you want a fixed story or a guided visit? The show tells a fixed story. A guide gives facts and can answer your questions.
- Will the show run on your date? The second show needs a minimum number of visitors, except on Thursday. If you book in advance on the operator website, the show runs with no minimum.
What to do in the evening now
The plateau closes to new visitors in the afternoon. Every day, except Ramadan, you can enter from 07:00, last entry 16:00.
On Wednesday and Saturday, you can enter the Grand Egyptian Museum galleries from 09:00, last entry 20:00. On these days, the museum is a good option for the evening. See the Grand Egyptian Museum page.
For the stops on a day visit, see Pyramids of Giza tours.
